The Importance of Making Silence a part of Your day-to-day Life

Once you’ve understood the significance of Mouna or silence to explore your inner self, it would be important for you to create time in your daily life, to nurture this quietness.

Ask any seasoned yoga and meditation teacher and s/he’d tell you how it’s the easiest thing to not practice yoga or meditate! It comes so naturally to everyone!

Considering the fast-paced world we live in today when there are so many distractions around us, it’s very easy to allow our attention to drift back into the external noise, and go missing in quick time.

The significance of Abhyasa

Abhyasa, the Sanskrit word means continuous effort and practice. Staying true to the abhyasa of silence would help you maintain a quiet internal peace, something that is very essential today.

The significance of Sangha

This is also where the importance of a community of like-minded people (referred to as Sangha in Sanskrit) comes into the picture. You get to practice yoga and meditation within the community and can remind each other about the importance of not letting our attention fritter away.

Mouna or silence is what miracles are made up of!

Mouna is a great teacher. As per Vedanta, while all the learning and teaching is complete, the only thing that remains is silence.

Beautiful things start unfolding when you experience mouna in its true form.
