“The psyches and souls of women also have their own cycles and seasons of doing and solitude, running and staying, being involved and being removed, questing and resting, creating and incubating, being of the world and returning to the soul-place.”
— Clarissa Pinkola Estés (Women who Run with the Wolves)
We invite you to join in this unique yoga retreat for women to deepen your connection to the cyclical nature of your body. We will explore the workings of your nervous system, your menstrual cycle and their impact on your physical, mental, and emotional well-being
Blending the ancient wisdom from yoga and tantra with insights from modern science, this yoga retreat offers a holistic perspective on cyclical awareness, menstrual health and your body’s innate wisdom.
This yoga retreat aims to provide a non-judgmental and supportive space for women to learn, share, and gain insights—through yoga, embodied practices, and meaningful discussions—that nurture a deeper appreciation for your body’s natural rhythms.
An overview: Yoga Retreat for Women – Cyclic Wisdom
Over the course of this yoga retreat, we will dive into how our body’s cycles shape our energy, emotions, and well-being. We’ll explore practical tools to align your yoga practice with your body’s rhythms, creating space to connect with your inner wisdom and exploring how to integrate this wisdom into your everyday life.
During the morning yoga sessions, we will practice yoga to connect with our feminine wisdom, journeying through our inner experiences, respecting our body’s messages, allowing space for rest and self-expression. The yoga sessions will incorporate various techniques such as pranayama, asana, relaxation and meditation techniques. These techniques are based on traditional Hatha Yoga but also integrate the evolving field of Hormone Yoga and somatic movement.
The theory classes in this retreat focus on learning about the role of the nervous system and how trauma is stored in the body. The understanding of nervous system is directly linked to the menstrual challenges and hormonal imbalances, increasingly seen among the women in this modern world with a filled up stressful lifestyle that doesn’t acknowledge the unique needs of a feminine body. Together we will discuss Menstrual Cycle Awareness (Credit: Red School), a mindfulness tool that helps you connect with the natural rhythms of your body. We will learn about the Inner Seasons of the Menstrual Cycle (menstrual phases) and about the challenges and natural powers of each season. Anna will invite you for an exploration of how you can navigate through the challenges of each phase as well as to harness the natural powers within each phase. As women, connecting to our body’s wisdom is essential for supporting both our physical and emotional needs.
This yoga retreat for women also includes daily Women’s Circles, to create a space to connect with each other, share our stories, inspire and support each other. During these circles, we would also explore some of the concepts from theory class through movement, dance, music and other artistic expressions.
